Things are changing along with the upgrade in the Gmail services. New Gmail started rolling few days ago, people are demanding answer for certain question. The question is this, how will I locate my contacts? Many people think the Contacts in Gmail has gone forever, why some believe it has disappeared from the account.

Meanwhile, the previous version of Gmail, now called Classic Gmail, had a drop-down at the top-left corner for quick access to Contacts and Tasks as shown bellow.

Contrary to the old version of Gmail, the task panel is located at the right side on the page. Yet, the contacts in Gmail are still hidden. With this, there are no traces of any link to contacts in your account.

How to Find Contacts in the New Gmail

Then, you can add one yourself, though, by using the little-used app drawer at the top right corner of your screen.

Step 1 ====> Click on it (Apps drawer) and you will see a bunch of icons for various Google applications.

Step 2 ====> If contacts are not there, click the More button at the bottom to move closer. By now you should be able to find contacts in Gmail account.

Step 3 ====> Now click and drag to re-arrange icons in the drawer, so drag the Contacts icon to any where to suite your taste.

Step 4 ====> Finally, you can quickly access Contacts by opening the app drawer, and then clicking the Contacts button.

Add Sender to Google Contacts in Gmail

When you receive an email from someone who is not currently one of your Contacts, you can open a contact screen for the person from within an email to add sender as a contact in your Gmail Contacts. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1 ====> First of all, open a message from the sender you want to add to contact in your Gmail address book.

Step 2 ====> Now hover your cursor over the sender’s name at the top of the email

Step 3 ====> Then click Contact Info on the information screen.

Step 4 ====> Click the + button on the Google Contacts screen that opens.

Step 5 ====> Enter the sender’s name and any contact information you have for the person.

Step 6 ====> Click Save to save the new contact or wait while Google automatically saves the contact.
