Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Program For Students In Developing Nations

Applications for the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) are now being accepted by residents of a select group of developing nations who have appropriate professional experience.

The program offers funding to pursue a master’s degree in a field connected to development.

International students can receive money through the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program to continue their education in one of 35 participating programs at institutions in the US, UK, Netherlands, Australia, Japan, and France in areas of critical development.

The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is available to both men and women from developing nations who are applying to master’s degree programs in development-related fields and who have relevant professional experience and a history of helping their countries’ development efforts.

Scholars from developing nations pledge to return home after receiving their degrees to put their new knowledge to use and support the social and economic advancement of their home nations.

Eligibility

Before you can apply for the Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program, you need to meet the following eligibility criteria.

Applicant must possess a Bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree that was acquired at least three years before the deadline for applications.

Applicant must not possess dual citizenship with any advanced nation;

Applicant must possess a nationality listed among the World Bank’s members

Graduate Scholarship applicants must have a healthy body

Applicant must possess at least three years of recent job experience in development after receiving a Bachelor’s (or comparable) degree.

Other include

Applicant must be working in a paid, full-time position doing development-related work at the time you submit your scholarship application. Possess a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent university degree) that you earned no more than 3 years ago and that you obtained no more than 6 years prior to the application deadline.

Applicant must be accepted unconditionally (barring funding) on or before the scholarship application deadline date to at least one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs that are situated outside of the applicant’s country of citizenship and country of residence listed when the call for scholarship applications opens. Before submitting your application, you must upload the letter of admission.

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program is open to nationals of the following nations.

Africa

Algeria, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, DR Congo, Ivory Coast, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Micronesia, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Tunisia, Tuvalu, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Asia

Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Fiji, Honduras, Iraq, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Myanmar, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Palestine, Pakistan, Philippines, Syrian Arab Republic, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Timor-Leste, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Yemen.

Europe (Graduate Scholarship)

Ukraine and Kosovo.

America

Belize, Bolivia, Dominique, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

Joint Japan World Bank Group Scholarship Benefits

Annual scholarships are given under the JJ/WBGSP scholarship to help with the cost of earning a master’s degree or its equivalent.

If the academic program is longer than a year, the rewards may be extended for a second consecutive year or a portion of it, pending good academic progress during the first year and the availability of funding.

Benefits from the scholarship are only for the recipient and include:

====> Flight travel in economy class between the home nation and the host university at the beginning of the study program, as well as one return trip once the total scholarship period has ended.

====> Scholars also receive a US $500 travel allowance for each journey in addition to the ticket.

====> A monthly subsistence allowance for living expenses such as books is also included.

====> Expenses like tuition, the price of basic health and accident insurance, which is typically purchased through the university

Duration: The proposed program of study should be for a maximum duration of two years.

Eligible Countries: Developing countries and other nations as listed above in the article.

How to Apply for Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program?

You must first apply and be unconditionally accepted for admission to at least one of the Participating Programs in order to be eligible for a JJ/WBGSP scholarship.

You must upload an unconditional letter of acceptance from a participating master’s program in your application.

Once the scholarship is available, applications are submitted online.

Depending on the participating program, there are 2 application windows:

JJWBGSP Participating Programs will accept applications between January and February

====> Application Window #2

JJWBGSP Participating Programs will accept applications from March to May.
